Welcome to the Oasis
As a newly retired teacher, I understand the challenges and joys that come with the teaching profession. My truth: the passion did not disappear simply because I retired. If anything, it gave me the energy and time to stay connected, support teachers, and stand up for students in ways I was unable to while in the classroom. I want to give back to the profession that brought love, laughter, and so many more sweet relationships than I could have ever imagined.
It’s essential to have resources and inspiration that can help you throughout each day and your collective teaching journey. This page is dedicated to providing valuable tools, favorite resources and inspiration for teachers…you will always be my people.
Favorite Resources for Teachers
In the ever-evolving world of education, having the just right resource is of upmost importance. Some of my favorite sites include Cult of Pedagogy where you can find lesson plans and classroom management tips, and Edutopia, which offers a wealth of articles on innovative teaching strategies that spark creativity in the classroom. EDUtips are micro-episodes of the Cult of Pedagogy Podcast. “Each EduTip offers one small, useful thing that will help you become a better teacher.”-Cult of Pedagogy
Inspiration from Fellow Educators
Always remember, inspiration can often come from those around us. Engaging with fellow educators through social media platforms has been personally rewarding. One platform you shouldn’t miss is Teachers of Instagram, where you can explore countless ideas and classroom setups shared by teachers from all over the world. Another favorite is Dr. Brad Johnson. He understands the challenges of education provides guidance and a wealth of inspiration. Two of favorites are: Dr. Brad Johnson on Instagram and Dr. Johnson’s Blog. I’ll add more favorites as this little retirement project evolves, so stay tuned.
In conclusion, whether you’re looking for teaching resources, creative ideas, or a supportive community, there are countless avenues available to inspire and uplift you as a teacher. Reach out, ask questions, find co-workers who walk beside you and are there for the laughter and the tears; together we are better. Let’s continue to support each other and share our favorite follows and resources to make your teaching experiences even more enriching! MOST IMPORTANTLY, protect your peace and sanity; take care of you and know you are not alone. A listening ear is always near.
